Stealing The Brand.

For the past 2 years I can't walk into a Christian bookstore (kinda embarrasing anyway with all the footprints in the sand junk) without seeing another "purpose-driven" rip off. Flattery was the first two books - everything after that is pathetic. I never expected PDL to be as successful as it is - so here me when I say that I'm not any kind of a book guru.

I put the rip-offs into two camps:

A) Friends/Co-workers who have seen an opportunity to cash in on the name - but have asked permission first. i.e. Doug Fields, Katie Brazelton, Brett Eastman, Erik Rees, etc.

B) Authors/Resources Providers who think they will sell more books but incorporating the words "purpose, driven or life" - here are the top 10 worst abuses: (actually there is enough to do a top 100 - tragic)

Guys, time to have an original thought. Do some prayerful meditation, I'm sure there is something unique that the Lord wants you to say - otherwise find a different profession. At least get it right - put a hyphen between purose and driven. Note to Christian publishers: you don't need to follow the world's methods!!!

My next book is titled "The P.E.A.C.E. Principle" - so I'm asking nicely that you don't steal it.
